Known as one of the most emblematic Venues in Lisbon, Convento do Beato was built in the 16th century. It served many purposes, the Convento was the home of the Monks of Convento dos Loios during the earthquake of 1755, and by the end of the 18th century, it was used as a Royal Military Hospital. In 1849, Queen Mary granted the use of the space to Nacional, a company known for producing goods derived from the milling process.
In 1984 due to its outstanding construction, it was recognized as a Patrimony of Public Interest.
After the first rehabilitation works of the space in 1989 – the old manufacturing unit of Nacional – the Convento has held countless national events. These events led the name of Convento do Beato to cross borders and as a result, remarkable international events took place at this venue. As well-deserved recognitions, the Convento received countless awards throughout the years. The Convento do Beato has been renovated for almost 3 years by Larfa Properties and we celebrated the reopening of this magical place during the last trimester of 2022.
